Overdue Library Books

  • Greg Iles: The Footprints of God : A Novel

Greg Iles: The Footprints of God : A Novel
Just started but already addicted. I've read most of the other books by this author and I've never been dissapointed. My favorite so far has been "Black Cross."

  • J.R.R. Tolkien: The Return of the King (The Lord of the Rings, Part 3)

J.R.R. Tolkien: The Return of the King (The Lord of the Rings, Part 3)
Reading it before seeing it on the big screen. I read the first two last year and loved them.

  • Wally Lamb: I Know This Much Is True

Wally Lamb: I Know This Much Is True
This is a book that is so deep and intense, there's no way to barrel through it. I've found it a bit of a roller coaster ride. I was hooked in the first chapter and then spent then next 6 chapters convincing myself to keep reading. I'm really glad I did. By the end of the book I felt I knew the characters personally. The author does an excellent job of drawing you into the story. I highly recommend it. It's very long, ~900 pages, but well worth it. (*****)

Popcorn with Genuine Imitation Butter

  • Just Married (2003)
I went into this movie with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. It's mostly slapstick/situation comedy but was quite amusing. Ted and I both enjoyed it. (7/10)
  • High Noon (1952)
If you haven't seen it - rent it! Although I did feel like my parents... "Isn't that so and so? Is he still alive? Wasn't he in...?" Great drama and suspense. 9/10
  • Bend It Like Beckham (2002)
Great movie for the whole family. Erin and Teddy both enjoyed it and they usually only like cartoons. It's also a great way to learn about another culture - the kids had a lot of questions about the Indian culture after seeing this movie. (8/10)

On the Tube

  • American Chopper
Yes, they're dysfunctional - but they make such cool choppers!
  • The Apprentice
I accidentally watched the first episode. Now I'm hooked. Damn these reality shows.
  • ER
This is the only show I watch religiously.
